1. Submit the application for authorization to operate

Before commissioning a classified facility, the application for authorization must be submitted to the prefect of the département in which the facility is to be located.

This file, drawn up under the responsibility of the applicant, includes a number of essential documents:

• administrative information on the applicant ;

• location of the installation concerned ;

• nature and volume of activities ;

• corresponding nomenclature heading(s) ;

• description of manufacturing processes ;

• maps and plans to locate the plant ;

• notice concerning compliance of the installation with health and safety regulations ;
