2. An Approach to Treating Polluted Emissions

The flows of pollutant emissions, the effects on human health, and, more broadly, the environmental impact described above clearly demonstrate—beyond the scope of standards and regulations—the need to minimize gaseous pollution emissions [10][31][50] . While a preventive approach at the source is always the most effective way to reduce unwanted emissions, it is often necessary to resort to remedial action and thus implement a process for treating pollutant emissions.
