Currently, more than 80% of the world's wastewater is untreated. The need to reduce pollution and recover as much water as possible from these effluents is one of the most important issues for the coming decades.
Evaporation is and will remain an important and indispensable technology for many applications. Often used to complete the treatment begun by reverse osmosis, ultra- or nanofiltration and sometimes electrodialysis, it enables the production of highly concentrated solutions, and the recovery of very high-purity condensates, which are therefore recyclable and contain no impurities that might otherwise be troublesome.
