9. Conclusion

Air pollution has significant effects on health and the environment. In France, despite an upward trend in air quality over the last twenty years, limit values are still not respected everywhere, although it should not be forgotten that pollution is transboundary. Today, air pollution is a major environmental concern for the French. Growing awareness of the environmental and health impacts caused by deteriorating air quality in both urban and rural areas is leading decision-makers to impose new constraints on the sectors that emit the most pollutants. The French Energy Transition Bill provides for targets to be set in the national plan to reduce pollutant emissions (PREPA) by 2030.
