The Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) is a national inventory :

• potentially hazardous chemicals and/or pollutants released into the air, water and soil;

• production and treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

The basic components are as follows:

• a list of relevant chemicals, families of chemicals or other pollutants and wastes that are released into the environment or transferred/treated off-site;

• production of annual reports on integrated multi-media releases and transfers (to air, water and soil);
