 INTRODUCTION

The majority of sciences, whether experimental (physics, biology, medicine, chemistry, psychology) or humanities (sociology, linguistics, history, geography), involve the use of a large amount of data (from surveys, for example), which must be processed using an appropriate methodology. Descriptive statistics is a method for processing and interpreting all data.

The aim of this article is to define the usual descriptive statistics tools used to quantitatively and graphically describe a character or pair of characters based on the data collected.
