3. Main physico-chemical properties

3.1 Physico-chemical databases

Given the sheer number of LI available, there have been a number of initiatives to provide free databases of their physico-chemical properties. The best-known of these is the NIST database (see Websites in the Need More Info section), which focuses on thermodynamic data. Smaller data sets can also be found on the websites of the main companies selling LI, corresponding to their catalogs. Last but not least, the Dortmund database is only available under license (see Websites in the Need More Info section).

However, attention is drawn to the fact that, in general, no critical analysis of the compiled data is carried out by the administrators of these databases, which leaves accessible values that are sometimes highly inconsistent...
