We have seen how incomplete the characterization of traceability can be without an analysis of the company's traceability needs. Two aspects can be distinguished: strategic analysis of traceability needs and traceability strategy.

4.1 Strategic analysis of traceability needs: why and when?

Carrying out an analysis of this kind is not just the prerogative of large groups, as it involves answering simple questions that are natural for any company operating in its sector. First and foremost, you need to ask yourself why you need traceability, and when you need it.
