3. Conclusion

We need to return to the concept and objectives of traceability as set out in regulation 178-2002, which was intended to introduce them into European law and then into European practice in the agri-food sector. This essential return to basics necessarily influences the understanding and application of traceability for non-food products.

Finally, let's stop trying to pit the interests of consumers (which in this case is the very purpose of the texts studied) against those of companies. In this area, they are intimately linked.
