4. Compact industrial trucks

The fundamental principle of discontinuous handling by unit load is to increase the load transported. This applies to all industries, and all the more so the further upstream you are in the production cycle, where the product is not overly differentiated. In existing installations, however, this quest for maximum unit load is hampered by the fact that market equipment is taking up more and more space as its capacity increases, and this is rapidly becoming incompatible with the space available.

In fact, the market for forklift trucks over 6 t essentially comprises machines working outdoors. Space constraints may therefore take second place to the imperative of not requiring a perfectly flat, highly resistant floor. As a result, the major forklift truck manufacturers have no compact industrial forklift truck in this capacity in their catalog. On the other hand, a...
