The aim of this article was not to produce a catalog of innovations in logistics and SCM. Rather, it was to reflect on what it means to "innovate" / "innovation" in logistics and SCM, the associated issues and managerial implications. With this in mind, the article proposes a number of reading grids designed to help us think about innovation in logistics and SCM.

While we've been careful to distinguish between the innovation process and the innovation outcome, it's important to remember that the two are inextricably linked.
