The main activities concerned by reverse logistics are those involving the collection of end-of-life, damaged, unsold or expired products. These products may be consumer goods or packaging. Then there are activities such as sorting, disassembling, cleaning, reconditioning, and so on.

This solution is obviously less expensive than keeping the return and manufacturing an identical product. If, on the other hand, the product does not meet the quality requirements of the initial market, it can be exported to another market (foreign country).
