1. Kansei Engineering

Kansei engineering is a product design method whose primary objective is to translate user impressions and expectations into partial or complete design solutions.

The first generation of Kansei engineering, subsequently referred to as "Type I", is therefore a user-centered method that aims to provide designers with objective information linked to the user's subjectivity, which can be used as design solutions. Subsequent developments also enabled the construction of mathematical models to correlate subjective needs and objective product attributes.
