2.1 Presentation of ISO 9000 version 2000 standards

At international level, it was in 1979 that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) issued a code of conduct on quality assurance.

In 1982, the Association française de normalisation (AFNOR) published three quality assurance models (standards designated NFX 50.xxx).

In 1987, the first generation of ISO 9000 standards was born out of a concern for harmonization and reduced auditing costs.
