3. Conclusion

We have followed, and detailed, each of the steps to study the principles, techniques and applications of system dynamics. Engineering sciences use cybernetics, particularly for feedback control systems.

For example, the flight of an aircraft between Paris and Montpellier is almost entirely automatic. It can fly on a constant heading and at a stable altitude, but it can also adjust its trajectory according to the wind at altitude, all without the pilot's direct intervention.

Social and economic systems also need to be monitored as they evolve. We know from experience that companies grow, but can also decline, despite regular efforts by managers to set targets and take remedial action.
