5. Conclusion – Development and application prospects

Of course, this method is still in the prototype stage. For it to be truly applicable, the interface needs to be simplified and a user's guide drawn up to simplify the learning and application of the method. Some aspects may still put off many elected representatives by their apparent complexity.

Similarly, the ultimate aim of using Petri nets is to create an immense "spider's web" network, containing as many of the processes present in the hazard grids as possible. This generic network would then simulate the entire hazard dynamic of the territory.

The legal dimension must also be fully taken into account in the further development of this type of method. Indeed, the elected representative, or at least the person acting on his or her behalf, will be carrying out a detailed risk analysis, and will therefore be required to publish results...
