In the manufacturing and process industries, the production function is an essential part of the company's top management level: it is inextricably linked to it.

Production means transforming raw materials and energy into finished products or services to satisfy customers. This activity requires human, financial and material resources. Among the latter, the industrial tool is the result of a physical investment or a company purchase.

Long considered a "dirty job" lacking the panache of marketing and finance, this function is once again taking on the importance it deserves after France finally understood the economic catastrophe its deindustrialization had created.
