Agriculture biologique; Organic farming
Uses farming and breeding practices that respect natural balances. It is defined by the use of specific production practices (use of green manures, natural pest control), and the use of a limited list of fertilization, treatment, storage and conservation products. In livestock farming, organic feed is supplemented by animal comfort conditions (notably loading limits) and treatments, in the event of illness, based on phytotherapy, homeopathy and aromatherapy. Switching from conventional to organic farming requires a two- or three-year land conversion period, and a conversion period for animals (varying according to species). If organic agricultural production complies with a set of specifications, certification can be obtained to market products bearing the "organic farming" label.
