Improvement process

The results obtained by calculating and analyzing indicators are used to improve the maintenance process, and more specifically its various constituent sub-processes. In fact, indicators are only useful if their analysis leads to action when deviations are observed in relation to set objectives or established reference values. Different situations can be distinguished:

• deviations are detected on process monitoring indicators; the improvement actions to be taken are then a priori "targeted" on the processes in question and easily identifiable;

• the values of asset-related indicators (reliability, availability, maintenance costs, etc.) are far from the expected values; this leads to the consideration of different options:
