4. Conclusion

The results we have presented in this chapter have enabled us to consolidate the idea that there is a strong coupling between the manufacturing processes of composite materials and their machinability as well as the quality of drilled holes. Through this study, we have also shown that it is important to take into account the effect of the material's manufacturing process in the optimization loop of machining conditions. Our approach has three original features. Firstly, we have taken into account the influence of the polymerization cycle of the composite plates and the machining parameters (feed rate and rotation speed) on the extent of delamination at the hole exit. It has been shown that, for the same machining conditions, the extent of delamination at the hole exit of a part manufactured in an oven is greater than that of a plate manufactured in an autoclave.
