8. Applications

EPS-M and EPS-E are used in all the situations described below. However, for cost reasons, EPS-E (XPS) is only used when excellent compressive strength or waterproofing properties are required.

In the packaging sector, applications for EPS-E are limited to thin objects (5mm) that can be obtained by thermoforming (e.g. trays, egg cartons, fast-food packaging).
