In the case of glass fiber-reinforced composites, it is common to observe a degradation of fire properties in the presence of fibers, in particular a decrease in ignition time and an increase in the maximum ignition duration of the material according to the "drop test" governed by standard NF P92-505. This behavior is generally accompanied by a drop in the limiting oxygen index (or LOI) (ISO 4589-2/1996F), which is the minimum oxygen concentration required for stable ignition.
