3.1 Situation

There are three main processes for creating a sandwich structure on steel cladding:
process corresponds to injected panels. The core is generally a polyurethane foam. This polymer is expanded in situ between two flat or profiled facings. As it expands, the foam spontaneously adheres to the skins. These thermal insulation panels can be manufactured in continuous or discontinuous form, and are mainly intended for the building industry (cladding, roofing, partitions, etc.). In many cases, the foam is applied to the back of a pre-lacquered metal sheet, so that the foam is in contact with the reverse side of the organic strip (figure
