4.1 Analytical model for amorphous polymers
The cooling time of an amorphous polymer slab of thickness 2e can be calculated from the one-dimensional conduction equation. At the initial instant, the temperature is assumed to be constant and equal to the injection temperature T inj . This strong assumption is valid for the model part used in this article. The approach remains strictly identical if we consider an initial temperature for the polymer higher than this temperature, which would account for self-heating during injection. Transfer is considered symmetrical at the center of the part. At the polymer surface, contact can be chosen to be perfect, with a temperature imposed at the average mold surface temperature
