5. Conclusion

First and foremost, the case studies presented show that REX is characterized above all by the nature of the problem to be solved and the objectives pursued by the players involved. In this case, it appears that the problem dealt with in the railway case relates more to the coordination of engineering activities with those of projects and operators than to the technical characteristics of the incidents. More specifically, this case study shows how a manager encourages participants in feedback meetings to reveal their own constraints and to be attentive to those of others. In this way, learning is mutual, enabling the groups involved to make adjustments that are more conducive to risk management.
