7.1 Authorization for 44 t trucks (Highway Code)

Decree no. 2012-1359 and the Order of December 4, 2012 on the authorized total rolling weight of land motor vehicles have made it possible since 1 er January 2013 to raise the total authorized laden weight (PTAC) of a truck from 40 to 44 t. Until then, France was one of the last countries to have a 40 t limit. We talk about 44 t transport, but it's important to specify that this type of transport concerns all transports with a gross vehicle weight exceeding 40 t.
