4. Know the obligations related to the use of a substance in the manufacture of an article

As a downstream user, you are identified as an article supplier. You may be concerned by two legal obligations if an SVHC substance is one of the constituents of your article:

  • an obligation to provide information;

  • and an obligation to notify Echa.

Be careful with your article definition, you need to determine whether it's :

  • a single item. In this case, both of the above obligations apply directly to the item;

  • a complex item. In this case, the two obligations above apply to each single item making up your complex item.
