6. Industrial development prospects

Microbatteries appear to be able to meet the demands of several applications. We can consider 3 categories:

  • backup power solutions;

  • RFID tag feeder ;

  • powering autonomous sensors.

6.1 Microbatteries as back-up power solutions

For many electronic components, such as Real Time Clocks (RTC) or Static Random Access Memory (SRAM), it is essential to have a power source built into the product to power a few basic functions in the event of failure of the main battery or its removal for replacement.
