2.1 International standardization
Standardization in this sector is carried out by ISO (International Organization for Standardization), which is made up of national standards bodies, notably AFNOR in France. All countries, large and small, industrialized and developing, on every continent, are invited to participate.
ISO develops voluntary standards that add value to all types of economic activity. ISO standards thus contribute to safer and more efficient development, production and services.
