2. Aluminum alloys

For the purposes of this dossier, it is advisable to limit our discussion of their weldability by grouping them into the following families.

2.1 Wrought alloys

These alloys are intended for the manufacture of products obtained by plastic deformation through rolling, extrusion, drawing or forging. They are given a four-digit numerical designation, and can be subdivided into two categories according to their hardening mode.
