4. Different ECM processes

The applications derive from the particular features of the process, which are to be able to machine electrically conductive materials, irrespective of their mechanical characteristics, in particular their hardness, and to easily reproduce the complex shapes executed once and for all on a cathode that is free from any dimensional modification.

4.1 Prismatic machining

This mainly involves the production of stamping and deep-drawing tools, mold cavities used in foundries or in the plastics industry, turbomachine blades, and so on.
