5. Geometric specifications

5.1 General concepts

There are four main families of geometric specifications that are defined by the standard. ISO 1101  :

  • geometric form specifications;

  • geometric orientation specifications;

  • geometric position specifications;

  • the geometric specifications for flapping.

A geometric specification describes a requirement by defining:

  • the toleranced element (the geometric element to be observed);

  • the tolerance zone, or more precisely an evaluation element...
