Modern industry is facing increasing challenges in terms of the quantity and availability of natural resources, particularly raw materials. In addition to recyclability solutions, which provide an initial response, it is essential to increase product life and performance through a new generation of materials.
Although currently under scrutiny due to the limits of our technological and industrial knowledge, nanomaterials enable the development of new products, processes and applications that can have a substantial impact on environmental and climate protection. Nanomaterials save raw materials, energy and water, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and toxic waste compared with more conventional materials.
