3. Summary and evaluation of surface finishing methods

The compatibility of each of the methods introduced above with materials typically encountered in metal additive manufacturing is summarized in table 3 . This table shows that almost all surface finishing techniques are applicable to metals encountered in powder additive manufacturing. It is important to note that switching from one metal to another for a given surface finishing technique requires development and investment.
