2.1 Secondary school issues

The secondary circuit converts the thermal energy produced by the nuclear boiler into mechanical energy. Waste heat is evacuated by the cold source constituted by a steam condenser. Steam from the steam generators (SGs) is fed into the high-pressure turbine casing that drives the alternator (figure 1 ). As an example, for the 1,300 MWe stage, the total steam flow is 2.2 t/s, and the temperature is 289°C.
