9. Overpressure protection system

The overpressure protection system for the 900, 1,300 and 1,450 MWe power plants operated by EDF in France (figure 18 ), takes account of the lessons learned from the Three Mile Island 2 accident (see [BN 3 451] ). It comprises three relief lines, each equipped with two safety valves mounted in tandem, controlled by the pressure of condensed steam from the pressurizer.
