4. Conclusion

This article examines the various thermodynamic diagrams commonly used to represent pure fluids.

For these fluids, the choice of coordinate systems is wide: six types of diagram are commonly used, although the most common are the refrigeration diagram and the entropy diagram.

The three examples shown illustrate how they can be used to visualize thermal machine cycles.

In particular, they show that the refrigeration diagram can be used to visualize all cycles, even those of gas turbines, in a very meaningful way. As it doesn't make direct use of entropy, it is easier to understand than other diagrams for users who are not familiar with this concept.
