7. Interchangers of tomorrow: what about innovation?

Today's heat exchanger manufacturers are striving to offer new geometric structures, often adapted and optimized to enhance the performance of existing exchangers, in order to achieve more intensive heat transfer.

Optimizing the performance of a heat exchanger technology must be carried out jointly from two points of view:

  • thermal optimization: transferring more and more power with a minimum of exchange surface area, thus saving material;

  • hydraulic optimization: generate as few pressure losses as possible during heat transfer.

The first point maximizes power exchange, while the second minimizes auxiliary energy consumption.
