23. The electric car
Europe, and therefore France, has decided that it will no longer be possible to buy a combustion-powered car from 2035, and that only electric cars will be allowed for sale from that date. The aim is to reduce CO 2 emissions and pollution. We won't go into the economic problems this poses here, although these are very serious for European industry and consumers, but just focus on the impact an electric car has on the environment.
The big advantage of the electric car is that, unlike a combustion-powered car, it emits no CO 2 in operation and its electric motor does not release any polluting particles.
