5. Implement preventive maintenance

You should also consider renovating your heat recovery systems.

According to the FMECA method, each failure mode is evaluated according to three main criteria.

  • Severity (G): impact on production, safety, environment or quality.

  • Frequency or occurrence (O): probability of occurrence.

  • Non-detection (D): difficulty in detecting the failure before it has consequences.

Criticality (C) is calculated by : C = G x O × D, each parameter being assessed on a scale of 1 to 4 (1 = least effect and 4 = very serious effect).
