4. Adopting advanced energy technologies

This initiative enables a shift from standard optimization to technological breakthroughs: process electrification, high-temperature heat pumps, renewable heat, low-carbon hydrogen, and, for certain sectors, carbon capture and storage. Below are some very concrete approaches for each major category.

4.1 Process Electrification

  • Replace gas or oil-fired boilers or ovens with low-carbon electric solutions (heating elements, electric ovens, induction heaters, microwaves, infrared heaters) when product quality permits.

  • Convert medium-temperature dryers, baths, and ovens into controlled electric systems, paired with low-carbon electricity contracts (PPAs, off-peak hours, etc.).
