5. Financing waste heat recovery operations

ADEME offers financial assistance for feasibility studies and investment in waste heat recovery equipment, subject to eligibility criteria. Projects must be part of a comprehensive energy efficiency approach, including upstream reduction of energy needs.

To submit a funding application, the following steps must be followed.

5.1 Prioritization of technical solutions

  • Prioritize internal recovery (same process or similar process).

  • Secondly, ensure external recovery (neighboring heating or industrial network) if possible.

  • Ensure cooling is provided if there is no need for heating.
