4. Identify technologies for recovering waste heat
Selecting recovery technologies requires knowledge of the following parameters:
temperature and mass flow rate of thermal sources (cold and hot sources);
heat output recoverable from composite curves;
fluids and their thermophysical properties.
Various technical solutions are possible.
4.1 High-temperature heat pump
Function: capture thermal energy (waste heat) from the cold source and recover this energy in a compression or sorption cycle to heat the hot source.
Limits of use: cold source <80°C - hot source <130°C.
