6.1 Start with a pilot phase

The transition to a fleet of electric company vehicles comes with a significant cost that must be managed. One of the pitfalls is trying to do everything at once, especially when the company has multiple sites. It is wise to proceed in phases, as follows.

• Assess actual needs (travel time, frequency, availability of charging stations).

• Collect feedback on the use of the tools implemented (vehicles, software, infrastructure).

• Record the amount of CO ₂ avoided per month.

• Calculate the percentage of the fleet that consists of low-emission vehicles.
