1. What is misting?

Fogging consists in producing a mist, a suspension in the air of a multitude of micro-droplets of water, each about ten micrometers in size. This two-phase mixture forms a water aerosol.

This technique is currently very much in vogue, as it is applied in many areas of everyday life, such as comfort (ambient cooling), entertainment (vaporous, colorful atmospheres), medicine (respiratory tract therapy) and, generally speaking, wherever humidification is necessary, advantageous or beneficial.

Example

During the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the misting technique was used to refresh marathon runners.
