3.1 ISO/TC 86 "Refrigeration and air conditioning
ISO standardization of industrial, commercial and domestic refrigeration is carried out by the international committee ISO/TC 86 "Refrigeration and air conditioning", whose secretariat is currently managed by ANSI (American National Standards Institute).
The committee, set up in 1957, is responsible for international standardization in the fields of refrigeration and air conditioning, including terminology, mechanical safety, test methods and calibration equipment, sound level measurement, refrigerant chemicals and refrigerants, taking into account environmental protection aspects.
