7. Refrigeration regulations
Over the years, European and national regulations have become stricter, and international agreements on respect for the environment have given rise to regulations that have challenged the habits of the profession and had an impact on standardization.
Back in 1957, the Treaty of Rome set out to create a single European economic area based on the common market. The "health and safety of workers" aspects are not omitted, but Article 100 only aims to remove technical barriers to trade. The Single Act, which came into force in 1987, set the date for the opening of the single market, and articles 100A and 118A introduced the legal basis for directives and standards into the Treaty of Rome.
