2. Power to Gas and hydrogen

Hydrogen production is 95% derived from fossil resources processed by thermochemical processes such as steam reforming. This solution is the most cost-effective of the range of techniques available, but it is also the most polluting, as large quantities of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) are generated. In contrast, the water electrolysis process produces ultra-pure hydrogen, but its cost price is 3 to 4 times higher than that of steam reforming. This price difference is essentially due to the cost of electricity .
