6.1 Analysis of concrete and paint surfaces

Concrete samples were characterized 28 days after demolding by IR spectroscopy (in ATR mode) to compare surface composition according to the mold used (PVC or POM molds). Table 5 shows the IR bands of concrete (PVC mold): portlandite (at 3,640 cm- 1 ), which is one of the major hydrates formed during concrete hardening, is thus easily detected.
