6. Cement-glass composite elements

Glass Fiber Reinforced Cement (GRC) or Glasfaserbeton (GFB) is a cement-rich micro-concrete (sand/cement ratio "1) into which glass filaments (100 to 200 filaments, each with a diameter of 10 to 30 µm) are incorporated during mixing (premix technique) or laying, using a technology directly derived from glass polyester composites: simultaneous spraying.

Microconcrete provides VCC with its intrinsic qualities (moldability, diversity of facings, etc.). As for glass fiber, it confers pseudoductile mechanical behavior, enabling the creation of thin and therefore lightweight products: 20 kg/m 2 in 10 mm thickness.

The qualities of VCC (lightness, mouldability, incombustibility, rot-proofing, mechanical performance) are used to produce a wide variety of non-structural products for the building industry...
